Well, we are not quite ready to announce the winning title of our new CD, but it is quite fitting and I think most will like it and how it relates to the band and the music we cover!

The CD is in production NOW and we are ramping up for a release date of November 13th. Check the website soon for purchase as we will be offering free shipping on the first 50 CD's!

Also, to get our Music on itunes and pay for the licensing for digital downloading we need to sell at least 50 copies so please help up so that we can get our music on the itunes, napster etc.

CD in Final Stages!

A quick update on the progress of our CD. We had tremendous response to our "Name the CD" contest and have decided in lieu of delaying the CD release, we would select the best name and release the winning name at the same time of the release of the CD! -Although the release date is still to be determined, it will be sometime the first part of November- and certainly before Thanksgiving!

We had some trouble (or a lot of red tape, rather) in obtaining licenses to cover some of the cover songs we wanted to release so we had to pair down our selection to some other favorites. We still plan to have 4 originals and 3-4 covers.

Yes it's true- our CD will be out soon, but we need your help naming it! -We are looking for the most creative, catchy, hip name that is sure to be a crowd pleaser! - We will be taking your suggestions up until the end of October- The best of the best will be selected and the finalists put up for a vote on our main website at www.bigtrigger.com! The winning name will be selected by November 15th, the target release date of our CD! The Winner will get:

1- A Free CD of Course! (autographs will cost you a quarter).

Big Trigger CD in full swing!

Brian and I have started the initial production of the first (and maybe only) BigTrigger CD. Some of the songs needed refining and will be totally remastered at 510 audio using Brian's remastering wizardry. The good news is that we should be able to have the CD ready a month earlier than expected-around November 1st. The BEST news is that in addition to four other original songs, we will be working on a 5th original specifically for this CD. A sneak peak at the list of songs is included below..(8 Tracks)! The order may change some. Please watch the website for pre-sales announcements. We will most likely be making the songs available for purchase on itunes.com for digital downloading too!

Big Trigger's First CD!

We are now on a schedule to release our first CD! Brian and I will be working on re-mastering some of our original recordings made over the past three years and in some cases upgrading some of the songs. The CD will include at least four original songs as well as several of our favorite covers! A target of a Thanksgiving or Late November release date is tenatively set. Look for upcoming email blasts as we work to release our first CD and make it available for purchase on our website at bigtrigger.com!

Starting up the rumor mill- New CD in the works?

As all good rumors should start from a reliable source, I am here to announce that......(ok, I mean spread a reliable rumor) that there has been talks amongst some Big Trigger members about working on a project for a CD to officially release some of our original music and some of our favorite cover songs!- There will most likely be new material that has been rattling around in my brain for Brian and I to arrange and to record that will be included.

More to follow but hopefully this is a project that we will anticipate working on for a target of the late fall to complete if not sooner!

Early 2006 Performance of Big Trig- This was at Usury Pass. We helped out PosterWall at Tawnee Bates Birthday Bash. I believe we played a Van Halen cover. I was sick and just getting over Pneumonia but still managed to belt it out without passing out!

Everyone says the Trigger is Dead

Well everyone would be wrong...the Trigger is alive and well....see the Trigger is not just a band (and a glorious band and that) --and even though we are on semi retirement hiatus right now- its what the Trigger means that matters. See, the Trigger is all about living the dream. The dream that their is a rock star in all of us...and even if lived for what seems like a brief moment of time, its something that will forever remain. Besides, being apart just makes a reunion tour so much the sweeter. Who knows- maybe we will play Gregs wedding?

Well, BigTrigger has been on summer hiatus while its members do some individual stuff. Greg and Brian have been completing and gearing up to promote the New Posterwall album (now complete and available for purchase at www.posterwall.net) and it is awesome! Uncle Henry has to be my personal favorite song. Doug has been having success on his solo project (hear some samples of "Heart Songs" at www.dougguthire.com) and also had a cd release. I personally have just been enjoying the summer and now am getting ready to start booking some bigtrigger gigs for the fall and in to the holiday season. If you know anyone that would like some great classic rock brought to a private party or even the office holiday party, please give us a call! Contact Info is on the "contact" section of the website. We can even mail you our sample cd for your listening pleasure.

Not even Brian knows this (he is usually last to know anyway :)), but I have been working on another original single for Big Trigger tenatively titled "Livin' it" following my style of reverse song writing...lyrics and melody first...then Brian helps to bring it all together. So this is something else to look forward to in the coming months. I also have some thoughts about re-cutting the vocals on the song "I know" and perhaps making an acoustic version of that song. Soooooo, hopefully we will see some revived activity from the boys of BigTrigger since we have had a rather dormant summer and have not played together since June.

Sorry we have not blogged in a while. Busy Busy, what can we say. We are rehearsing a whole host of new covers for some upcoming shows. It looks as if our next gig will be for the LDS Elliott Groves Single Adult Ward Dance on April 15th- (see calendar section of at www.bigtrigger.com)

In the Studio Tonight

We are in the studio tonight getting our covers together to promote the band. What an exciting evening it has been. Greg is throwing tantrums and Brian is breaking his strings. But hey it's the holiday's and we are taking our frustrations out here...tis the season for the airing of grievances right? But the good news is that Greg brought Fudge or some sort of Christmas edible so we can sit around, record and get fatter...seriously though...for all you Big Trigger Fans...we have laid down three favorites...Steve Miller's "Rock'n me Baby", The Romantic's "What I like about you". and Van Halen's fine "Ain't talkin' 'bout love". We will use these along with some previously recorded WHO tracks. ...Hopefully these will get us a new gig at the HAMBONE when they are done with the remodeling.

Thanks to all those who sent emails etc. regarding the music samples on our website. We were especially pleased with those who liked our originals. Brian will certainly be estatic to hear that "Unbeliever" is a really well liked blues number! (I think this means we should write more blues)!... I think what it really means is that it is time to work on some new Big Trigger originals. Usually it has been our love interests (or lack thereof) that have gotten the creative juices flowing. I think we all should have some influences in this area now...so we'll start writing! (Shelli, I know Greg is just dying to write you a drum solo)!

Big Trigger Officially Debut's!

With our first three gigs behind us, Big Trigger is officially off and running! We want to thank everyone who came out to the big show at the Monastery. For those of you who missed it, Big Trigger was the opening act for Posterwall and Dougie J offered us a couple of his solo selections that of course always are pleasing to to the ear.

We are hoping to play the Monastery (http://www.realfunbar.com/monastery%20mesa.htm) again as they seemed to really like us..we are also working on some additional shows for December and maybe a club gig or two.

Please use the blog to make any suggestions as to what classic rock song's you may want to hear...we are for sure going to work on some new stuff for some of the new shows.
